Areas of Specialism
My work is underpinned with a Transpersonal school of thought. Transpersonal is when within the therapeutic relationship, the therapist's capacity to see beyond the dysfunctional symptoms that the client may be manifesting are exercised and to enable the client to fully express their soul qualities in all facets of life and to focus more on their life journey.
I have experience of working with clients from diverse backgrounds and my qualifications as an Intercultural Counsellor, in my experience this has enabled me to explore the many cultural challenges that some clients may have with identity, as well as other challenges. I also have experience of working with young people and the affects of gang culture, trauma, abuse and domestic abuse. I also work with attachment challenges, self harm, bereavement and loss and substance abuse.
I have over over 20 years experience of working with addiction, abuse, trauma and the hidden harm agenda of how substance abuse can affect family systems. As well as being a private therapist I have extensive experience of working in secondary and primary school settings, supporting the children, their parents and staff.
